Roleplaying for fun I really enjoy my online time waster is role-playing. It never fails to please me and I’ve made a lot of buds doing it online and off. I’ve never role-played in a different language before, but I’ve played with many ESL gamers.
One of the things I do when I’m on the net is study ways to increase my rping style. You can find many essays if you research for the right places. They’ll help you play less Gary-Stu characters, perfect your rping abilities, and come up with better premises. There are also sites that offer teachers to help you out directly. Sometimes I research things just to use them in my game.
I love wandering onto a website’s roleplaying forums and pretending to be someone I’m not. My favorite type to play is alternate history. I have a thing for attrac tive female characters. I game other types too and I almost never turn down the opportunity to game a sorcerer. I also like to play ghosts and entertainers whenever I can. There was this one time I played an evil necromancer and it was the most fun I ever had.
Of course, it’s not always the most fun I’ve ever had. One thing I get irritated with are greybeards. Because of this... It’s always great fun to discover a circle of gamers that has talented rpgers. I suppose that’s the great thing about rpging online. If you run into an irritating gamer online, you can avoid them. It’s not like tabletop rping where you can’t find another circle easily.
Besides rpging, I also spend my spare time playing video games. I do some Dungeons & Dragons from time to time too and have thought about liveaction role-playing, though I haven’t found a group yet. I also watch a lot of anime with old school fantasy feels to it. A game I’m really looking forward to getting into is Victoriana. What’s your favorite game?
